Limit coffee-drinking to this time window to lower early risk of death, study suggests - CNN interview
A few days ago I got the opportunity to review a new study and provide expert insight in an interview to the reporter, Kristen Rogers with CNN. Please do read the study and this interview below to get a better understanding of the full context.
At 360Girls&Women® we encourage water as the main hydrating liquid along with caffeine free herbal teas regularly, when appropriate. Caffeine is a stimulant and a diuretic (increases amount of urine the body makes) and consumption may elevate blood pressure, blood sugar levels, increase heart rate and can exacerbate symptoms of anxiety and sleep disturbances. Caffeine intake may cause hormonal imbalances (changes in estrogen) among premenopausal women and can worsen menopausal symptoms. For women who are pregnant and consume caffeinated products it is a concern. Caffeine crosses into the placenta and at certain levels can cause spontaneous abortion or miscarriage. Caffeine is found in foods and beverages such as energy drinks, coffee, certain teas, and chocolate.
