The postpartum period is the most vulnerable and overlooked time in a mother’s life.

Sleep deprivation, hormone imbalances, unmanaged stress, and undernutrition have consequential affects on every cell in the body.

Really excited about this media interview with #parents magazine because though eating specific foods are important in this journey of life, just eating food, period, should be top of mind when you are trying to survive…

“One of the things that I hear often as a dietitian is that [new parents] want to lose weight,” says Anderson-Haynes. “Losing weight is great, but when you’re trying to breastfeed or trying to repair and recover, my first thing is, let’s not talk about losing weight yet. Let’s talk about getting your body back to a recovery state.”

It’s important to strike a balance of when you just need to survive and when you are ready to thrive.

I teach moms and moms-to-be how to address each goal at its right time.
